Fox News commentator Bill O'Reilly is getting loads of liberal heat for taking to task the American Civil Liberties Union. Mr. O'Reilly last week reminded viewers of the words of ACLU founder Roger Baldwin from 1935: "I am for socialism ... I seek social ownership of property and the abolition of the propertied class ...." O'Reilly didn't use the last part of that original quote; he should have: " ... and sole control of those who produce wealth. Communism is the goal."


That O'Reilly is being pilloried says much about those doing the pillorying.

I put the ACLU in the same basket with the UN. Should be an organization that does something useful, but in the end only serves whatever purpose it decides is best for itself.

I wonder just how many times the ACLU has fought for our second amendment rights?

I dont know about this communism stuff. The ACLU has good intentions sometimes, but you have to be kidding if you think they stick to their said goals. Go look at their website. They are supposed to be non-partisan, yet they have their own legal director on their blowing the Bush Administration to pieces about human rights stuff. They also blow up on Gingrich for fighting the rights of the poor with his 1995 bill passing. They dont sound to non-partisan to me. I cannot find anything about how a Dem did something wrong one time. Well that might be because they are for more socialistic policies. I will let you look at their web site and decide.

Wow yall really need to read the crap they put on this website. They say that drug addiction is a disease not a crime. Women with families should be judged less harshly in court because of they have families when it comes to drug cases. Hey what about when they murder someone. Oh i know they killed someone but hey they have a family to take care of. What is wrong with the ACLU? It is not communism. It is the fact that they arent in touch with what the average american would consider a civil liberty. They believe it is just a right radical regime trying to shoot down gay marriage, yet in most of the states that were surveyed including CA, the gay marriage stuff was shot down. It is hilarious how they try to spin everything. It is a must read.

i think that drug abuse is a disease and a crime...and it needs to be addressed as such. i have a relative who is a recovering alcaholic and i have no doubt that it was a disease...the only thing that is different between that addiction and and cocaine is that coke's illegal. i don't think that we shouldn't treat drug abuse as though it were a crime but we have to realize that it is a crime which requires specialized attention not just encarceration. that being said, the aclu makes a lot of radical leftists look conservative...i think that they think that they are representing the people but they lost touch with what people really want a long time ago.

the aclu is a political organization founded by a commie. bmw is an apolitical company that was used by the nazis at one time. big difference. i love analogies, but the two things have to actually be analogous for it to work.
