Antony signed her scolarship papers. We are waiting on them. LSU has been calling her. Apparently since she is under 21 her parents must sign. When they come in I am sure we will announce it. I just hope LSU does not get in there somehow.

i thought someone said her parents WANTED her to come to tech
Not after those "evil internet guys" said she was HOT. :icon_winkOriginally Posted by Choudawg86

From what I understand, her parents are definitely on the side of Tech. She, herself, was trying to decide between the two schools. Hopefully, since she has signed, her parents can do the rest quickly.
CAN WE JUST DRIVE TO THEIR HOUSE AND GET THEIR SIGNATURE NOW?
How good of a player is she?
This is all about who gets her now.Originally Posted by steltz

If Tech gets her, you won't hear a peep from them except to say she was never an "SEC-quality" player.
I hope her sister Ashley will pursuade her to go to Tech
Since she has signed, where is this new stuff about her not coming to Tech coming from??
Prospective student athletes can only sign one valid National Letter of Intent. But 4-year college transfers don't sign National Letters of Intent.Originally Posted by bjude64
This signing is all about scholarship papers, and multiple papers can be signed. Scholarship signings aren't binding until papers are filed with the school.
right I understand that, but she obviously signed the scholarship stuff, so where is it coming from that she might not be coming here......is it speculation??
It sounds like Pokey is giving it one last push - that is all. I think, in the back of most of our minds, we think lsu might play dirty.Originally Posted by bjude64

After all, open dissent such as this is NOT acceptable. IF we're not careful, Lincoln Parish may be annexed as "EBR North".
As for Antony. She's worth fighting for. She is a great ball player
Why is she leaving Vanderbilt?

Vanderbilt transfer Katie Antony has signed scholarship papers to attend Louisiana Tech but will take an official visit to LSU on Monday after getting a call from LSU coach Pokey Chatman last Monday, according to Antony's mother, Quita Sue Antony.
"Vanderbilt has been slow sending out her release papers and LSU didn't get them until late in the week," Quita Sue Antony said from Beaurgeard Memorial Hospital in DeRidder, where she is a registered nurse. "Christie Sides had called earlier and talked with her but LSU couldn't have her in until they had the release papers."
Antony was given her release from Vanderbilt last month, but had limited options on where to transfer until the last few days, according to her mother, who said that Nicholls State and UL-Lafayette had also called requesting the release papers.
The former Anacoco standout played in 30 games as a sophomore for Vandy last season, starting 15, and averaged 5.1 points and 2.8 rebounds per contest.
During her senior season at Anacoco, Antony was named the Gatorade Louisiana Player of the year, Louisiana's Miss Basketball and a McDonald's All-American.
Antony's sister, Ashley, who played for the Techsters from 1999-2002, is due to graduate from Tech this spring and is engaged to a Tech assistant football coach.
Antony will have to sit out the 2005-06 basketball season, but will have two seasons of eligibility remaining wherever she transfers.
"Before she makes a commitment, she wanted to go down there (to LSU), so we're still not clear cut on what we're gonna do," Quita Antony said. "I have the papers at the house waiting to sign them. I told her that she has to think about what she wants to do. There are a lot of pros and cons to both of them."
Since Antony is not 21 years old, her parents must sign off on the scholarship papers.
If Antony signs with the Techsters, she would become the first signee for coach Chris Long, who took over the program from Kurt Budke in early April.
While the Techsters finished 20-10 last season and lost in the first round of the NCAA playoffs, the Lady Tigers advanced to their second consecutive NCAA Final Four and were 33-3 on the season.
The Techsters, one of only two teams to advance to all 24 NCAA tournaments, have won three national championships and advanced to 13 Final Fours.
