Who wants to make a bet that the people who will be collecting money for parking will not even be out there collecting it until about 2 hours before game time? Reasoning? To save on wages for those money takers. Of course, Jim might even assign Ronnie to this task to keep from having to pay an extra body.

Those of us hardcore tailgaters who start early will still not pay parking and Tech will miss out on that revenue stream.

I hope I am wrong. As I think this is a great idea.

When you pitch in for our tailgate spot, you are paying for parking. Those spots we buy every year are $500 for each spot.

Wrong, unless they just finished another batch of apartments, but I fit my butt back there for all home games, next to a huge sand pile which was next to the new completed apartments. There is still room back there, you just have to be determined to get in that spot.

Charging for parking is way past due, BUT . . . this is probably the worst year in the last decade to start. Interest in this year's football season is very low. Paying for parking is just another excuse, albeit a small one, for the casual fan not to go.

Develop a strategy. Build a value and sell it.

Paid Parking is in the strategy (or at least it is now thank goodness). Parking is just like a logo or rights to a game or a game ticket, it HAS A VALUE. You are suppose to make money on things that are of value.
