Any idea who the donors are that are holding the shovels? That would be a clue as to who is on Reneau's do not call list.
Oh come on! This IS a good thing. No way would I want the university to stagnate just to allocate funds to athletics.
Academics are not the enemy.
I agree. I don't think the problem is Dr. Reneau's enthusiasm for the academic realm of Louisiana Tech, as much as it is his lack of enthusiasm for the athletics. The problem is he doesn't realize that a good athletic program is as important to the college experience as academics. I have tons of great memories from watching Dogswin stumble down the bleachers of Aillet singing the national anthem as loud as I've heard anyone sing it, to the times we tried to blow the lights out of the cheer meter in the STAC. Throw in the bbques by the tracks while we razzed the opposing teams right fielder as well as sitting on the dugouts if we wanted to get the whole team.Originally Posted by DawgyNWindow

This building is going to be an incredible learning environment. I think it is great that we are improving our campus like this academically.
Just like everyone else, I want to see our athletic department improve. One familly donated $600,000 to finish the building when Reneau found out that we were short 1 Million on the budget.
It would be great if we could get this type of money donated to the athletic department. Malone donates 80K or something like that and everyone gets real excited.
Just wish there was more enthusiasm and interest in Louisiana Tech Athletics.
They need to take those damn gold shovels and dig the foundation for the new turf!!!!!

So will Reneau retire soon so the building can be named in honor of him?
