I agree..absolute capitalism is just as bad as outright socialism. I have to draw the line on some things, however, such as the govt. telling ME what color, sex, age employees I must have or when and how I can hire and fire. It's my blood, sweat and tears in this business that I own and if you don't like my hiring/firing practices then don't work for or shop in my store. More "common sensical" appproaches must be taken or we will see more largUS companies being throttled to death by the liberal unions and more small businesses succumbing the supporting liberal employment laws.

    An example of the best......
Regarding what most capitalists so casually refer to as "socialism".

    In France......
If you want to become a university student, you MUST pass an entrance exam. Only so many tries are allowed and tutoring is provided, etc.!
For all who cut the moutarde (mustard)...... Every university education if FREE (to any level) as long as the student continues to meet academic stardards.

    ERGO......
    Rich or poor......
It is only the creme (cream) of France's educational crop that QUALIFIES for this brand of "socialistic" largesse...... And it is French society that ultimately reaps the collective benefit.

    Interestingly......
Even the wealtiest and best "connected" family in France CANNOT get their smartest dumb kid into ANY UNIVERSITY IN FRANCE, without cheating, or in some other manner violating these strict standards.
But the French slant on "socialism" will assist even the son of a president to become a plumber or an electrician, and so forth.

When I consider the above, Salty......
I cannot help but wonder how "bush history" could have been written if papa george had been French.

    IMNHO......
Instead of much of our planet now paying several prices for little george "presidential" stupidity......
Only several hundred French families would have been unable to flush their toilets over the last 6 years, without serious shit backing up in the sinks...... Had little george only managed to FOOL FRANCE into believing he had the qualifications to be something akin to a mediocre plumber.

And not to beat a dead horse lying under the skeleton of an effete elephant......
But ask yourself this adroit question.
If you were ever a contestant on Who Wants To Be Millionaire......
And little george was on your PHONE A FOOL LIST......
For what possible reason would you ever consider dialing his NUMB NUMBER?

    BTW......
I in no way meant to imply that little george could ever be considered the smartest dumb kid from the papa george and barbara litter. LOL!

I had to read your post several times......
Before realizing that I agreed with 98% of your missive.

I'll only add LEGAL as an adjective to "employees" (1%)......
And question (1%) why you have been under any illusion for the last 25 or so years that UNIONS remain a part of any "liberal" equation.
