Heads UP about computer VIRUS -

During the next several weeks be VERY cautious about opening or launching any e-mails that refer to the World Trade Center or 9/11 in any way, regardless of who sent it. PLEASE FORWARD TO ALL YOUR FRIENDS AND FAMILY. FOR THOSE WHO DON'T KNOW, "WTC" STANDS FOR THE WORLD TRADE CENTER. REALLY DANGEROUS BECAUSE PEOPLE WILL OPEN IT RIGHT AWAY, THINKING ITS A STORY RELATING TO 9/11!

BIGGGG TROUBLE !!!! DO NOT OPEN "WTC Survivor" It is a virus that will erase your whole "C" drive.. It will come to you in the form of an E-Mail from a familiar person.
If you receive an email called "WTC Survivor", do not open it. Delete it right away! This virus removes all dynamic link libraries (.dll files) from your computer.

Ehh... What the heck, I can't sleep, so I'll post some real anti-virus help...

As a professional programmer, I will offer the following advice to everyone to avoid viral programs.

    1) When in doubt, don't. The little joke or inspirational screen saver that makes you giggle or think deeply for a minute or two is not worth the hours of aggrivation, possible data loss, or information release related to viral programs.

    2) Surfing porn, free images, free fonts, etc.. is very dangerous. Try your best to stay on reputable sites. Some viruses are installed from malicious web sites that seem ok.

    3) Keep your software up to date. If you use Windows, Windows Update is installed on your computer. Use it. Especially if you use Windows XP.

    4) Install an anti-virus program on your computer. Free one that I recomment is at: http://free.grisoft.com/freeweb.php . This protects your computer at all times, but to be safe, run a full scan weekly.

    5) Install an anti-spyware program. Free one at: http://www.download.com/3000-2144-10...age&tag=button You should also run this once a week.

Above all, use your head. And don't worry too much, the best of us get in trouble. If you run in to real trouble, ask for help. If nothing else PM me and I'll do what I can.

    Hope this helps someone out.

#6 google everything before opening.. Symatec's website is really helpful in telling is something is malicious or not. There are many other helpful ones, but i can't recall them at the moment.

This is still a beta version, but it seems to work very well.

I really like this, and it's free.
