Middle Tennessee is terrible. Hell, they have lost to Ulala the last two years and average around 15000 a game, yet they can get competition like this to come to their house. We should be able to get the same at Ruston.

Actually I can see a BCS school doing this if the AD for the non-BCS school is willing to work hard and make a few concessions. It gets a team a little experience on the road before the conference schedule starts at a place where there is little chance of an upset.

I wonder if MT gave them a 3 for 1 deal or is taking less money when they travel to Charlottesville?

Yeh, they have a team from a BCS conference coming every year to their hometown. I know we got Miami but we need to consistently have that and get someone more like Arkansas or middle of the road BCS team, so we can have a good showing. Kind of like we used to.

Temple joining the MAC and changes in their schedule this year caused a domino effect with several other schedules including MTSU. MTSU replaced Temple this year at North Carolina State and is getting Virginia in on a 0-1 deal next year as part of the rescheduling agreement.

I am sure folks said the same thing when we got Texas A&M, Oklahoma State and Miami all to come to Shreveport. My theory that adding a 12th game will hurt our chances of getting games like this might be wrong ... we will see. Our opportunities for games like this might actually be a LITTLE better. Like I said, we will see ....

No question it does. We have a hard time scheduling mid to low rated teams in the big conferences because they are scared of us putting an "L" on them.

The reason that they MIGHT be playing teams of this caliber could have something to do with their coach. Andy McCollum is one heck of a recruiter. When he was at Baylor with Grant Teaff, he had the number 5 defense in the nation. True, it was a while back, but number 5 is nothing to sniff at....just a possible explanation.

Baylor is ancient history...Grant's been gone for almost 15 years!
