Any of you astro fans know what that loud whooshing noise is I keep hearing?
Oh never mind, it was the Cardinals. They had their brooms out doing a little sweeping. I guess the "Stros" hot streak is over.

There are more where that last one came from. We are trying to make sure we peak late.
GO STROS GO!!! Rally caps guys!
I really 'preciate the Astros spotting us the first third of the season each year. It makes the task a whole lot easier. Then, just when they think they're primed to make a big move, we sweep 'em to start the second half.

Go Cards!!!!
We started off the second half just as bad last year. We aren't going after the Cards yet. We are after the wild card. We'll dispose of you in the playoffs.Originally Posted by Tech77
Right on dude! Speaking of baseball, is it just me or is anyone else sick of the Yankees and Red Sox? Does ESPN realize that there is a whole country out here and most of it doesn't give a damn about the yankees and red sox?Originally Posted by Tech77

The Braves are just now getting their stars back, Hudson and Hampton are back and Chipper will be soon. Thats gonna be your National League Champions right there!
Whoa Nellie! A braves fan, that's as bad as the yankees and red sox.Originally Posted by TulsaPup
Stros take out the pirates last night big time. This team was 15 games under .500 early on. Now at 45-46 and with one of the best pitching staffs in baseball. The bats are coming around, there's still plenty of time to catch the braves or nationals.
I can't help but believe it will be the Nationals the Astros are ultimately chasing. I realize the Expos were on the road three quarters of the time last year and they had no fan support, but they were really a bad team. I'm almost banking that they will collapse.
I do like the fact that their star player is named, "Wilkerson."
The Nationals will start losing some of those one runs games. Besides the Braves are finally healthy and should pull away.
No matter what trading deadline trade any other NL team makes nothing can bolster a lineup and a pitching staff like adding Chipper Jones, Tim Hudson, Mike Hampton, and John Thompson.
We'll see how real the Nats are after the rest of July when they have to host Houston and then go to Atlanta and Florida.
I wouldn't be surprised if it were the Mets and the Astros fighting it out for the wildcard.
dont get this met fans hopes up. they will fall apart, they always do.
Its all a moot point, Cardinals are going to the world series again and with a healthy Chris Carpenter and the addition of Mark Mulder their pitching is much better than last year.Originally Posted by Dawg04
Nope. They are peaking too early. One series and done.
Don't call it a 'Dunn' deal just yet!!!!!! If the 'Stros get a power hitting outfielder, such as, oh I don't know, maybe Adam Dunn, they will be a force. It is amazing that they are still in this thing with the worst hitting outfield probably ever assembled. They need Dunn and could even use another outfielder who actually can hit, then we will really be back in this thing!
Go Stros!!!!!!!
