    Lady Techster Camp

I have been seeing advertisements around Shreveport for a Lady Techsters Day Camp at C. E. Byrd High School. This could be a good recruiting tool in the Shreveport area. Byrd and Southwood have great ladies basketball tradition. Both schools have many women's basketball grads playing in the NCAAs including Ty Moore and Fresno State's Erica Henry. Baylor All-American Sofia Young played at Evangel in Shreveport. A former great Lady Techster Amanda Wilson played at Huntington High School in Shreveport. A lot of talent comes from Shreveport which makes it a recruiting hotbed. My hope is that we establish a strong presence in the city to pull the recruits to Ruston and keep other schools such as Baylor and LSU out. I am assuming Katie Hall is behind this camp because she was an all-state player at Byrd whenever they won the state championship in the mid-90s. Keep up the good work Katie.

Correction: Amanda Wilson played and graduated from Evangel. My dad coached her there.
