Cajuns To Visit Ruston

The University of Louisiana at Lafayette Ragin Cajuns recently released their 2005-2006 basketball schedule. The schedule includes a December 13th visit to Ruston to take on the Bulldogs in the first of (what I understand to be) a 4 year home and home scheduling arrangement. I am really looking forward to that game, just as I do every other game between the Cajuns and Bulldogs!

As you can see, in addition to the Sun Belt Conference schedule, the Cajuns will take on a very rugged non-conference schedule with many of those games being played on the road. However, the good news is that next year, several those schools (including Tech) will be returning the games in Lafayette.

As it turns out, this years schedule (having a bunch of road games) may be a blessing in disguise. I say this because it is beginning to look like the Cajuns will have to play some, if not all, of their home games this season at their old home at Blackham Coliseum. This is due to the fact that the Cajundome is currently being utilized by FEMA and the Red Cross as an evacuation shelter for evacuees from hurricane Katrina. From what we are starting to hear, the Cajundome may not be back in shape to host any other events until sometime in 2006! If that is the case, we won't have to host many non-conference visiting teams in that old, rundown facility and we will then have a strong home schedule in 2006-2007 when we get back to playing in the Cajundome.

In any event, I look forward to our visit to Ruston in January!!!!

I'm sure the Cajuns appreciate the good luck wishes from all of you Rustonites! I'm also quite sure that none of us expect to recieve any good wishes for our trip to Ruston. That comes with the territory.

I also hope the Bulldogs have a good record when the Cajuns come to town. No use going on the road if the team doesn't have a chance to help its RPI. I expect that the Bulldogs will have a little revenge in mind for the Cajuns after the whoopping they took last year in B.R.!

CHC, Come on, man. CajunDave is alright. What did he say that was so wrong? They did thoroughly kick our butt last year, the way we thoroughly kicked their's in the NIT game at Ruston.

We will need to be much improved to beat them this year. I believe we will do it.

ESPN U’S COLLEGE SHAMEDAY AT ULL IN TWO WEEKS

LAFAYETTE – ESPN U’s College ShameDay will broadcast from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette campus as the college football preview show will air from the limestone parking lot at Cajun field on Saturday October 1.

College ShameDay will be on the ULL campus for the Cajuns ESPN Bottom-10 match-up with Central Florida.

ESPN U’s College ShameDay Built by Enron is hosted by the Unknown Comic with analysis from Pauly Shore and Carrot Top. Triumph the Insult Comic Dog will be roaming the limestone parking lot ridiculing Cajun fans.

The "University of Louisiana" has EIGHT men's basketball programs, so the schedule posted was about 7 short of a full load. Use of the legal name (add "at Lafayette") or a legal abbreviation (ULL) should be the rule rather than the exception on this board.
