I can see how they beat Lamar...

Dawgs still don't have a true identity on the offensive side of the ball

I really like the sniper skills of Ree

Batcho looks stronger but you know what he is going to give you every night

Newman, while a very good passer, has zero offense and is still too weak to take the banging the likes of WKU, SHST, UTEP and others are going to subject him to

I'm interested to see how they play at UTA Saturday

Re: Preview: LA Tech vs. LSU-Alexandria

It was a 7-point game midway in the second half, then we went on that 14-0 run. I like LSU-A's coach, who is now 26-8 in his career there, but thought he blew it at that point. He should have used his timeouts and settled his team down. Instead, he did nothing but stand there and watch his guys out of control while Tech, with our better athletes, took advantage and opened the lead.

We looked like a bunch of "good" players who just met for the first time 30 minutes before the game and went out there and played school-yard ball. Reminds me of my days playing pick-up games at the YMCA in Metairie, when a bunch of guys would form 5-man teams and play full court games, first to 20 baskets won, and got to play again. Pete Maravich would often join in too. In addition to The Pistol, there were former college players, a couple of former pros, and some really good high schoolers who would show up. Everyone knew how to play, had the skills, but had to learn each other on the move.

All of that to say, Hester has to get this group playing on the same page, or otherwise we're looking at another disappointment come March.
