Will they even have a bowl eligible team?
Well its happened before... a 5-6 SunBelt champion HAS to go to a bowl, right PlummMeanGreen? Maybe he could shed some light on the NCAA rules on this.Originally Posted by Dawgbitten

I think it is what should be done this year. Keep the game in Louisiana, and the logical choice for a site was a SunBelt member school. I'll wager they'll have a decent crowd for the game, and the two teams will have a good time.
As for who will play in the game, I would bet on Troy. The Injuns think it will be them, and they would certainly have a leg up if they beat Troy at home this week.
Did Lafayette sustain much damage from the hurricanes? The city wasn't mentioned in national reports.
No, Aub, Lafayette was pretty fortunate to dodge severe damage from both hurricanes.
There again, it just seems like they would want to have a neutral site in case ulala plays in the game. Shreveport's Independence Stadium would seem to be a natural. But Shreveport just sucks as a sports town as we all know. The crowd would be anemic because if it ain't lswho or the sec it ain't good enough for us. Depending on what else is going on, that might be a fun little road trip just to extend the college football season. Of course, another thread was talking about how Tech could end up playing in the game, in which case I will be there for sure.
Although Shreveport does suck.... overall.... I would think that they would still support the bowl game. If Tech was in it, I'd say that their would be 30 - 35 K just in Tech fans, then add a bunch of S'port/Bossier people, why couldn't we get 45 K in there?
We had a great turnout for our bowl game against Maryland. Saved that whole Bowl with that game.Originally Posted by DocMarvin362
Arkansas State beat USL tonight, so the Cajuns aren't likely to be playing in the NO LAF bowl.

The New Orleans Bowl can be played in a high school stadium in Breaux Bridge and not have to worry about parking problems....... Good luck to who ever gets picked to play the Belch Champs, although I doubt they need it.
well..........it could very well be Louisiana TechOriginally Posted by DawgFaninHous
