What a Novel Idea!!
Texas sells naming rights to baseball stadium for $13.1 million
October 12, 2005
AUSTIN, Texas (AP) -- The University of Texas sold the naming rights to its baseball stadium to University Federal Credit Union for $13.1 million on Wednesday.
The school said the money will be used to help finance major renovations to the 30-year-old ballpark, which will be called UFCU Disch-Falk Field starting Aug. 1, 2006. UFCU, an Austin-based credit union, will spread out the payments over 15 years, with an initial gift of $1.5 million.
The Longhorns, who won the College World Series in June with a two-game sweep of Florida, have been among the NCAA Division I attendance leaders in each of the last seven years. The program has also been one of the most successful in NCAA history, reaching the CWS a record 32 times and its six national titles are second only to Southern California's 12.
Texas athletic director DeLoss Dodds said additional seats, new locker rooms and sound system, and a remodeled concourse are among the upgrades planned in the overhaul of the stadium, currently called Disch-Falk Field, in honor of former Longhorns coaches Billy Disch and Bibb Falk. The renovations are expected to begin after the baseball season next spring.

You have to have something someone wants to buy in a market they will benefit from. Rustin, isn't exactly the place.

University Federal Credit Union Disch-Falk Field rolls off the tongue rather nicely. Reminds me of NASCAR.
