Whats up with 92%? What cost is left out?

As I am in Texas, how does the TOPs program work with athletes. If you are TOPS qualified, does that reduce the cost of full scholarships for accounting athletic department cost purposes?

So if a Lousiana high school guy gets a 50% baseball scholarship, does he have his college paid for when you add the TOPS money?

jamey is a good kid and will help out whatever school he goes to. he doesnt throw 92 haha i dont know where people got that. i say he is consistently around 84. He has some pretty good offspead stuff. He is known to get wild at times if people start hitting him. I also kinda think that all the hype going around lousisana about this kid helped him out. 90% percent of the batters he faced probably knew that they probably werent gonna hit him and that gave jamey the mental edge. In college it will be interesting to see how he does.

    Re: Jamey Bradshaw

NCAA passed rule that went into effect for this year that any academic aid an athlete qualifies for just as any other student will not have to be counted against the 11.7 scholarship limit for baseball. Applies to other sports as well...a break finally for the non-football and basketball sports. So if player gets 50% offer, qualifies academically for tuition (about 40% for in-state students), then player and family have 15% to cover for themselves. Out of state kids don't get TOPS, but can still qualify for some academic aid if they meet the same standards as other students with required test scores, etc.

The ruling was not retroactive to past year signees. However, if current player would have been qualified had rule been in effect and maintains GPA above 3.0 in degree program then the academic scholarship portion can be removed from counting as athletic aid. A lot of paperwork to get this.

92% coverage for both athletic and academic someone mentioned above, sounds like weekend meals were not covered, which makes sense if player lives in north Louisiana.

As I posted on 10-28-2005, 01:09 PM. :-) Just wish it wasn't a Football Friday Night day... Couldn't fit anything in there other than football... Otherwise, I would have put the Bradshaw news on the air at 6, 9 and 10...

I saw your post, and consider you an extremely reliable source...but figured some people like confirmation of news.

That's great!!!!! I'm glad Sim is getting some local kids. Those Choudrant mommas and daddies support their teams well. Let's convert them all to Tech fans. Glad to have Jamey in the fold.

Jamey is a great sign. He will be able to play some OF and possibly first base for the Dawgs.

maybe you need to see him before you say anything about him...he's a quiet kid and nothing bothers him...he is very laid back and loves to win
