Robert Muise, of the American Freedom Law Center, which is working on the case, said, "The Constitution does not permit government officials to order a private citizen to check her religion at the door to city hall. Ms. Wittman does not cease being a Christian when she is performing her duties as an election worker…"

That's the thing Ray, if we constantly whine about things that aren't actually persecution, when real persecution arrives, no one will listen/care. It's the boy who cried wolf in real life.

I didn't say that.

The boiling frog story is an example of the slow process of indoctrination. Sorry if you don't see it, but things that were taboo 50 or more years ago are now accepted as the norm.. That has repeated itself over and over and will continue. Seems the only exceptions to this rule are hard and fast demands from the left regarding the Christian Faith and patriotism.

Saying that, if the state employee wore a BLM t-shirt, they would receive pats on the back.

And things that were the norm 50 years ago were taboo 100 years ago...like women showing their ankles or black people being allowed to use public restrooms with white folks. Not all change is an indication of the degradation of society. But, there's a lot of money to be made in convincing folks that's the case.

Not focusing on it won't make it go away. A bunch of "Christian grievance" conferences have popped up in the last 5 years.

You don't think this is a motivating factor? Ever?

I think the boiling frog thing can and does happen. There are incremental changes in society that are bad in themselves and bad in where they're headed. Sure.

But there is also a tendency in the U.S. to wring our hands about what Starbucks prints on their coffee cups and pretend that it's oppressive religious persecution and then we're surprised when it's hard to get real problems seen as serious. And just like heretics profit by preaching a health and wealth "gospel" some (usually not actual ministers) do profit off of outrage culture in general and "come see the violence inherent in the system" style confusion between persecution and inconvenience or loss of cultural dominance.

The crying wolf analogy is often pretty spot on. Not always, but that's the point of the story.

Well sure.

Won't argue with that.

But remember when people got worked up over the non-Christmas cups sometimes? That was a thing. Like, totally a sign of Christian persecution that wasn't really a thing that just trivialized true persecution.

Starbucks is even worse (if that's possible) if you don't drink coffee but need to meet someone there or something. Do you know how much a tea bag costs? Compared to what they charge for a cup of Earl Grey? Highway robbery!
