    Mississippi College kills football program

    The school administration blames NIL.

More schools to follow? I believe there will be more.

Honestly probably the best decision for them. College football is over and no sense wasting money when there's not even any scraps to have fun with.

    I don't know -

I've been to several SAU games the past few years watching kids that grew up and played with and against my son and it's a blast, great crowds, good game day experience and fun to watch

In all honesty - NIL & COA and transfer portal doesn't wreck havoc on that level of football

That's just a board of regents looking for a simple way to cut costs

I agree. Toward the end of this story, the school Prez of Mississippi College sounded like he just isn't a big fan of football, and thinks booking concerts, and other student "activities" is a good substitute for football on campus. He's clueless. This decision is going to hurt Mississippi College if it isn't reversed.

Have a former business associate, now a president of a bank somewhere, who played football at Miss College. He was there when that incredible "lateral the ball around, last play of the game, kickoff return" occurred. This event is like the famous Cal-Stanford return on steroids. I don't remember if Miss College pulled it off or was the victim of it, but it was unbelievable. Will see if it is on YouTube...

Nope! never mind it was Millsaps...game vs. Trinity College. Still, find this on YouTube, it's incredible. My former associate played at Millsaps, I'm having a flashback now. A mind is a terrible thing to waste, eh.

D3 isn’t really the home of major NIL deals anyway. It is tough for a school like them that has few teams around them. Travel can get expensive quickly
