That's great for Terry and for Tech.
Hey, maybe we could do something similar in Delhi for our native son, Coach "Gravy" Patterson. Maybe we could talk to Kansas City Southern about getting their permission to name the intersection of the RR with Hwy 17 the "Gravy Train" Crossing. Then again, maybe not.
That's really going to piss those LSU fans off. Glad to see Shreveport has finally done something to honor Terry. It was way over due.
Come on DW! Who care what the LSU fans think.Originally Posted by DONW
Does Shreveport have a real LSU hero? It's late in the afternoon and I can't think of one right now.

Understand why you would feel that way, DFM, but after all Shreveport is Terry's hometown and his tenure at Woodlawn probably factored in as well.Originally Posted by Dwayne From Minden
Still no reason why Ruston and Tech should not honor him in the same way. After all, he is the first and only Tech athlete to be the absolute first pick in a professional draft. And unlike so many first picks, he delivered the goods. The 4 Super Bowl rings attest to that!
As another old Woodlawn alumni, I say GREAT!
PS I love name "Passway" How appropriate.
Of course, this is not related to football,
Its due to his National High School Javelin Records.:icon_wink
I am still waiting for a new restaurant called "Bradshaw's" to open in Ruston. The sign out front would be in the shape of a Tech home blue jersey with the number 12 on it. On the inside it would have great atmosphere with exposed brick walls with lots of stained wood and brass to give it that classic look. As soon as you walk in you would be staring at that classic full-bodied action shot of Terry in his Tech uniform. Next to that would be photos of 4 Super Bowl rings. On the floor would be the "Louisiana T" done in the tile. There would be old Tech Lagniappes in the waiting area for seating, tons of Tech photos on the walls like old buildings and turn-of-the-century pics of football teams. Great shots of other Tech heros and sports as well. There would be signed memorabilia from Tech "greats" and a bust of the great Coach Aillet under a spotlight. The food would be good, but not pricey. TVs in the corners would be on sports channels, and replays of classic Tech games (basketball included would be played during slower sports days). All the wait staff would wear Tech football jerseys. It would also have an area to stage talk shows and QB club meetings. It would be "the" Tech hangout for all ages and would be admired by fans from other schools as well. Folks would get off the Interstate to eat at the famous "Bradshaws"and be excited when Terry occasionally stopped in for a visit.
I guarantee you there are a lot of LSU fans that hate Terry for not going to LSU. I had a neighbor in Pineville that badmouthed Bradshaw all the time and the sports editor of the Town Talk would never write anything positive about him. You need to go over there and get some shots of people driving be the sign.Originally Posted by Dawgpix
Alabama street in Ruston is long overdue to be renamed Terry Bradshaw Blvd.
I can understand how some Tech folks may not want to rename "Tech Drive".......but come on, nobody gives a crap about having a street named "Alabama" in Ruston.
