Tyler Area Player Signs With TECH
The Tyler morning Telegraph reported today that TECH signed Whitehouse H.S. (about 4 miles from Tyler) senior pitcher Clint Helms. Quoting Clint, "The campus was really nice in a rural setting and not in a big city. The coaching staff was really nice. I'm excited!"
He pitched for the East Texas All Stars that won the International Baseball Federation 18-and-under division National Championship at the IBC World Series in Clearwater, Fla.
I know nothing about this kid but sure understand his line of thinking.
Good luck Clint!

Re: Tyler Area Player Signs With TECH
My source that knows most of the select players from that area said that Clint has been bothered by arm problems and has been trying to rehab this past year. He was a hard thrower so hopefully he will be ready to pitch nex't year at Tech. There have been quite a few kids come out of Whitehouse that threw in the low 90's ( Josh Wilson, etc. )

Re: Tyler Area Player Signs With TECH
Thanks Falcon. You are right about this area. The Tyler region is a hotbed for football and soccer as well.

Re: Tyler Area Player Signs With TECH
Sign another pitcher or two in this class and have a whole new starting rotation possible in coming years!
