Would somebody tell our coaches

That our RB's are NOT punters? Several times Mark Dillard was MORE THAN 10 YARDS FROM THE Line of Scrimage!! It shouldnt take 4 seconds to hand the ball off to the running back. It gives you NO PLAYACTION OPTION. Cant fake the handoff at that point because then the play is going to take 8 seconds. Your not going to get the pass off and even if you do the element of surprised is ruined.

If we run that crap against Boise they will be in our backfield all game long because you cant run playaction off that crap. Taking too long!!!

I thought the same thing. Why the hell are we lining up 20 yds in the back field. It takes so long for the play to develop. When did we start doing this???????

I noticed in the 2nd half we couldn't run play-action or bootlegs -- Idaho coaches made an adjustment and had the DE/OLB spying on the backside. Everytime Kubik faked a handoff and bootlegged the opposite direction, there was an Idaho defender sitting there waiting on him. Once again, ANY COACHING STAFF IN AMERICA can figure out our offense after the 1st half. No imagination in our playcalling at all.

We have had our RB 8 yards deep the whole season. I always thought that with zone blocking being deeper in the backfield gives the back more time to read where the whole is.

7-8 yards is okay. 10-12 yards is not

That's the only thing I could think of for doing it as well. What I really didn't understand is that it was not working at all in the second half, but we kept doing it over and over again. Don't we know how to do anything else?

That is true. But, it's extremely stupid to run short-yardage 3rd and 4th down plays with the back that deep. When all we have to gain for a 1st down is 1 or 2 yards, why hand the ball to a guy 6 yards behind the line of scrimmage? Then the RB has to gain 8 yards instead of 1-2. Short yardage is no time to worry about giving the back room to read a hole -- put the guy up close, call a play, and hit the hole quick and hard. I don't understand our coaches' mentality in this regard.

On running plays, our backs have been 7 to 8 yards deep all season. On passing plays, they setup 5 yards deep. Think defenses have figured that out yet?

When we got lucky and recovered the SECOND on-side kick, you have to tell your backs to ocver the ball - NO FUMBLES....
