    2006 Schedule

    http://www.latechsports.com/schedule...l&season=05-06

I see the new schedule came out. Looks like Tech will be playing 29 home games and one in Grambling. Wish I lived close to take in all those games. Maybe I'll be able to make the Reno games again or Hawaii sounds nice.

My son, dad, and I plan to hit the Fayetteville area for the Arkansas games. Planning a weekend of playing golf and watching baseball. Then off to watch the Baylor series tourney.

Yes, not a good place to wear RED. Blue stands out nicely there.

For a preview of what the state and T looks like on the baseball jumbotron in Fayetteville, visit aubunique.com and find the arkansas vs tech game photo album from two years ago.

Rumor is, they are a casualty of JO's cuts - told Sim to cut a in-state series out - save all that huge money spent on bus rental -

I've heard that as well. Just another sign that JO couldn't give 2 sh*** about Tech Baseball. What a moron.

Heard there may not be a baseball broadcasts this year also -

Also heard that the only way he can raise $30,000 for a scoreboard is through "untapped" outside sources -

    Re: 2006 Schedule

That would be quite disappointing, I hope that they would continue to do the "live stat/box scores" at least........ Also, would it be a complete non broadcast of the schedule or only a partial one, kinda like in the past where once basketball was finished, we had a few games to listen to? It'll be tough being from South La, and not getting any type of information about how the team is doing as the games progress. The coverage in the past was shaky at times, but we could at least listen to the games and get as much up to date information as was available. If money can be raised to offset this possible non broadcast, how much would it take????

I think there might be an effort made to at least pick up some of the opposing teams' game announcers when we are on the road.

    Re: 2006 Schedule

How can coach Sim expect to sign top notch recruits when the AD is dragging the baseball program into mediocrity? What parents will encourage their son to choose LaTech if they can't follow the games in the media? I hope these are just rumors. Somebody please clear this up.

    Re: 2006 Schedule

I would be surprised if any of these are rumors. Oakes has been doing this for years. He talks the talk, but VERY rarely walks the walk. How can you not have radio broadcasts? Does it cost that much money? Our entire athletic program is on the verge of mediocrity, if we haven't already reached it.

Can someone tell me how much it costs to broadcast a baseball game? If this is true, what a step down for the baseball program by way of our AD Dept.
