I am severing my loyalty to La Tech officially today. Some may care and some may not! But I won’t spend another dollar or attend any more athletic events at La Tech. Message received today about Coach Cumbie( nothing personal, he has a family to feed) really confirmed my belief in the administration. NO ONE in this current administration cares AT ALL about having competitive football in Ruston. I fear we may go the way of Centenary 25 years ago. Drop football and go D-3 in other sports! I cannot understand this! If someone knows some inside information they can share, please do! I invested way too much time, money and dedication to the Dawgs to be feeling like this now!!!!!!!

You issue a statement that you are going to take time to evaluate all phases of the program without committing to keeping any coaches etc. You don't have to have the whales fund it all. 10,000 alumni give a 100 to athletics and it's paid for. Now we all know we could never pull off a completely organized campaign, but again some of the bigger alumni if approached would put up some cash, and then with all the alumni that the foundation etc. talked about over the years, some would be willing to give 100 to athletics... its not to buy the coach out. It is to enhance the game day experience.

But you see we can't effectively call on the average donor because they have been marginalized by several of the previous AD regimes. The money exists, but we don't know how to ask for it and cultivate the base to produce it. Never have really, but especially in the last 15 we really shit the bed.

We are broke and have been because of the way we have been run for decades and the rules put in place by the ULS and legislature. Henderson isn't going to change that; he was part of that process. The legislature sure isn't going to change. So, why keep dumping money down the FBS drain at this point? If we are broke and are going to admit it, then we admit we can't afford to play ball at the very bottom of this level.
