    AP All-America Team

There were no WAC players named to the AP All-America Teams. Out of the 75 positions, only 4 non-BCS players made it. Two on the second team and two on the third team. Two from CUSA and two from MAC.

Oh well, the AP can go to Hell. We already knew they loved the BCS.

I think the voting is influenced these days by the commentators on ESPN. They pick out players from their favorite teams and hype them all year. There was no ESPN when Mike Barber made AP first team all-American in 1974. He also made first team AP all-American as a junior when Tech was D-II, probably the only player to do to be named to both teams. I remember him running out on the stage on the Bob Hope show. The AP all-America team was introduced on the Bob Hope show every year.

The draft will tell you where the real all-americans are and they won't be so heavily skewed towards BCS schools.
