Question for the community from a newbie:
What is the future of Tech in your opinion? Clearly CUSA is not sustainable. Being on par with Kennesaw St. and Sam Houston St. is laughable.

Might need to address that Q. to Tech Admin.
I wish the MAC would expand into a Northern and Southern division, with Tech, W Ky and Middle Tennessee seeding the Southern division.
That's not "major" college football, but "major" college football is more of a semi-pro league now anyway.
Yeah, I am probably alone on that island.
The ship has taken on water and half submerged! We need new a new administration that knows how to pump/ bail water at a rapid pace. Then bring in ship experts that know how to repair the boat! I don’t see that happening with these small thinkers in Ruston currently! I don’t want to hear that all schools our size are experiencing the same problems. We need out of the box thinkers and people that have very high goals.
I agree with this. I think Jech is in some sort of deep sleep funk. From the looks and feel of things it sure doesn’t seem like there’s an energized game plan to get the school anywhere athletically. It’s more like we’re treading water in hopes that dry land will find us instead of swimming for a better shore to land on. There’s nothing worse than aimlessness.
"treading water" is a pretty good description of what to expect under Henderson. He's all about what's in it for him. He won't do anything too injurious to Tech, but he won't do anything special to advance the university forward, in athletics, academics, anywhere. He's another Les Guise. I'll take someone like Dan Reneau who did something for our academics or F.J. Taylor who did a lot for athletics. Henderson will accomplish nothing.
What do you get when you tread water long enough? A big ass shark eats you from the bottom up. It’s coming, it’s just a matter of time.
I’ve never understood the love for DR. Is it possibly the implementation of higher admission standards? Unfortunately, higher standards were implemented without any strategic plan for recruiting students and thus maintaining/growing enrollment. Some of his policies were also very detrimental to fundraising.
Not a "big fan" of D.R. He just doesn't deserve the constant bashing he gets here. I was on the "100 Committee" for several years and later represented NSU at their meetings on behalf of Dr. Webb of NSU. Tech, i.e. Dan Reneau, was held in high esteem across the board, across the region by those in higher education. Just because some Tech department might not have grown as much as we wanted, does not mean Dr. Reneau did not create the opportunity. Your angst should be aimed at the department heads, and some of those tenured professors who either fought change or did not take advantage of what D.R. provided.
You're just upset D.R. let pigtails get away. Which he didn't do either. But, let's not revisit that.
Unlike you, I’ve never cared about WBB. Actually I hate the “sport”.
He deserves every bash he got going back to letting TJ Eagles get away, then hiring Lloyd. His screw ups in athletics were abundant, but not having us prepared for CUSA when they opted for UTEP is totally on him and hurt us the most.
