    Looking to the Future

Getting things going is our big concern right now. Four of the guys got painted up at 1:00 for the 7:00 game Saturday and went to Time out for TECH. We did some recruiting on the side and got a lot of people excited about the game. We had several HS seniors and even a few dads who wanted to paint up with us, but good old TECH waited till the last minute to give them their tickets to the game and they didn’t have time. We also had the chance to talk to several of the B-ball prospects for next year. They seemed excited to be on campus and also later at the game! The band was also at TOFT (for the first time) and they did an incredible job! We’re doing our best to recruit new members into The Blue right now as you could see Saturday; we had our four lovely ladies painted in Blue! We also talked to Robken about the march. He thought it was a great idea for Saturdays, but the band members, along with most of the members of The Blue, have classes and jobs until late afternoon. We’ve been fortunate to not have to work on game days so far (I usually get someone to cover my shifts if I can) or to at least have some members of The Blue at every game. We are in the process of doing a lot of planning and preparing for the future of The Blue right now… you could consider it the calm before the storm… but we really appreciate all of your ideas and support! Please feel free to help us by not only going to the games and yelling, but getting your fellow spectators to stand up and scream! Bring a water/coke bottle to the game with a few pennies or rocks in it and shake it to make noise.. we’re working on possibly getting enough of these shakers to hand out at the games..? We’ve made a lot of really good contacts with some of the Admin in the last week or so and are working on more projects, so please keep your ideas rolling in and feel free to jump in and help out, even if you’re not a student. Thanks again guys! I love your loyalty to TECH!

Oh yeah, We're also working on getting our web site up and running, which is going to help out alot!

One cheap idea I have seen at some other university's games, and I have heard that Hawaii does it, are giving the fans in the basketball end zones balloons. The balloons I have seen used are probably 5-6 feet long and are very skinny. They kinda resemble the shape of those styrofoam noodles that kids use at swimming pools. The fans use them to wave in the air and use them as noise makers by hitting them together. Basketball end zones with a wave of red and blue balloons would look pretty cool. Just some food for thought. Thanks for all of your efforts. You guys add alot of excitement to Tech athletic events .

This is the second time that the Band has shown up for TOFT this school year.

Another thing, just an idea, not quite sure how you would apply this, but the Team Shop was selling the old "Throw-Back" Baby Blue tear away warm up jerzies. the were on sale for $5 for the jacket and $5 for the pants, when we went last sat. to buy some he told us we bought the last 3 jackets but, they still had some pants left. I don't know if they could get some more but if they're still on sale that would be something to wear that's easily recognizable and cheap. I'm thinking about wearing my set to the game on thurs and sat, depending if i get enough guts to wear it in public, lol, j/k
