I just took a tour of Memphis and I have to say;The U of M campus was absolutely hideous.They may have good athletic facilities but they can thank the city of Memphis for that.I believe the campus actually topped NE louisiana for ugliest campus in the US.Louisiana Tech is an actual college atmoshere.Memphis is just a bunch of ugly buildings thrown together in a few city blocks.It makes Tech look like an Ivy league school.
I attended a week-long seminar at then Memphis State, way back in the late '80's. We stayed in an on-campus facility that has meeting rooms and hotel rooms. The something center...can't remember the name. Going for jogs I remember how horrible the campus was, but the surrounding neighborhoods were nice.
It does sit in a nice neighborhood but is absolutely just a bunch of illconceived buildings on a few nondiscript blocks.They can never talk about Louisiana Tech and Ruston.
It is amazing how a bunch of schools located in the ghetto think that they are so much better than us.
Richardson Towers... The area around Memphis is unreal, but for a few bad apples... It is a a comuter school inievery since of the word...
