Brooke says "this group is so teachable, so coachable." Really? Well then, why don't you and your fat staff coach them then? Brooke conceded while the team is young, they are about to play their 20th game this season. They are no longer "young." Again, coach, you admit there is no excuse for the LOW IQ play at times, yet it keeps happening.

Sam Houston is 1-7 in CUSA play, 8-10 overall. This needs to be a road win...no excuses.

I think this will be the first road win. Hoping the men can get their first road win next week, as well. Both teams are suffering from only being able to win at home. I don't mind the MTSU loss for the Techsters as much because MTSU is really good this year, but we CAN beat them on the next round. I think these freshmen will be ready by tournament time, but there is still a LOT of work to be done to get them on the right track.

Whoa! 14 of 24 from the FT line 58%, and 30 turnovers. Let me repeat that, a whopping 30 turnovers!

Funny thing, SHSU was just as bad from the FT line, 15 of 22 for 68%. But the Techsters decided to hand them 30 gifts.

No excuses. Team is just as bad today as they were in November. Fire Brooke and the whole staff.

Turnovers have killed us year-after-year. Out of 353 Division 1 wbb teams we rank 328 in turnovers per game this season: in the bottom 7%. We rank 262 in free throw%. Yikes!

Yesterday combined turnovers LTU-SHSU were 50!! 40 combined after three quarters, 30 combined at halftime. Yep, we had 30 turnovers yesterday, Sam Houston 20. We average 19.6 per game. I'm hoping to see half that in the TAC at this week's games with Liberty and FIU. Go Lady Techsters.

She is 145-120 I think since the 2016-17 season which is what 54% win percentage. They are just as bad today as they were when she got here. No one has cared if she wins, just as long as she doesn't have problems on and especially off the court. I don't expect them to be in the Top 25 anymore etc. I do expect them to play solid ball night in and night out. I do expect them to be at the top of the conference we have been in while she has been here. She has had more than enough time to install her system, recruit the best players she can get to come to Tech for that system, and to play solid fundamental ball.

Re: Brooke Stoehr Press Conference -- Jan. 28

If Brooke and her hubby are to remain, they need pay cuts. Which they wouldn't agree to and would just leave. But, I would approach them with a proposal on any renewal of their contracts saying the value of the product you supply is $XXXX, whatever any newbie coach would accept the job for. I don't know, maybe $80,000 for her and $60,000 for him, or some such amount. Not the several hundreds of thousands they are making now. They simply have not earned it.

I was an advocate for Brooke getting the job based on what she did at NSU. I attended several of her practices and watched and listened to her coach/teach and I could not find anything wrong with any of it. I also got to sit on the bench, as a guest, twice and heard what she was saying in the team huddles during games. Again, she said all the right things. And in her defense, her teams got better during the year peaking in March. Unfortunately, none of that seems to have transferred with her to Tech. Maybe because our conference is generally tougher than the Southland. Whatever the reason(s) she is not earning the salary she is being paid by Tech. Time for everyone to move on.

I like Brooke as a person. I thought she did a good job at NSU as well. Knew her and Sides while at Tech, always though they would be good coaches. It just hasn't happened here, and this far down the road the switch isn't going to just flip.

Best we can hope for with wbb is to save some money.

That is the main issue. But wouldn't mind a measure of success on the court too. Ya know, actually winning the conference's auto bid to the Dance, once in a while. Ditto with MBB as well.
