Actually, anyone that knows any little thing about wbb, knows the name Louisiana Tech.
So, why does it take a halftime butt-chewing to get this bunch focused?
Personally, I thought the butt-chewing should have come in the opening 2 mins. I would have called a TO and jumped 'em big time, right there and then.
This is ridiculous. First play of the game Ty Moore misses an uncontested layup. I knew right then this team was already on the wrong path. I do not understand why this group of players is not self-motivated and self-focused. We all know that a good team will absolutely roast this bunch if they play like that in the tournament, for any period of time!
Long is doing a great job, no doubt about it. But the players need to take some responsibility for themselves. Period.
The SEC and Big 12 play on a neutral court, so scheduling is done to give the top seed an advantage. The WAC scheduled the Nevada men to play in the last game of all night sessions since they were hosting. The Nevada women played the first night quarterfinal because they weren't playing a team that had played the day before...that's why Tech had the late game Wednesday.
I really wish that they would separate these two tournaments (men and women). Tech is the only place that could draw a decent crowd for all the women's games.
I like 'em all in one place . . . just not anywhere west of Shreveport.

Isn't there a nice gym in Bossier where they could run a tournament? Ruston, of course, would be perfect. I doubt the other ADs would vote to fly to Louisiana knowing they were going to lose!
Funny you should mention it... I was just posting on another thread that I think we should start having a pre-season b-ball tourney in Bossier at the Centurytel Center. I was actually thinking about this the other day, too, that it would be great if S'port/Bossier would bid for a first round venue of the NCAAs. Don't they know that women's bball fans are older, much like the target market for their casinos?:icon_wink
I have never understood why we don't put in a bid for this at the Centurytel. Texas Tech and Texas went in together last year to get the bid at the Dallas American Airline Center. We could do it by ourself or strengthen our bid by going in with some nearby schools on it.
