Ronny Walker Resigns

This is a direct quote from an email I received today:

". . . in other news, Ronny Walker resigned today from Tech. Ronny was the main fund raising guy for Athletics and this is NOT a good thing. He is also a good friend, and I don't blame him, Road block after road block with Jim. He is going back to the banking industry."

Before I start receiving red dots for speaking blasphemy of one of the greatest things for modern Tech athletics, this is from a reliable source. I also trust this source completely.


What a sad day for Tech athletics.

they hired him because cartek and hogdog had been calling for tech to hire a fundraiser for a long time. they hired him to appease them, but of course they tied his hands and didnt allow him to do his job.

that sucks.

Amen Memdawg! Dwayne, those Champs dollars need to be scooped up by the new BB&B plan and put to good use! I would rather people keep giving and the money go straight to athletics than people not give at all!

How many would be willing to put their feelings about this on the open board? And what would be the downside?

I hate to contibute to the ammunition of the Tech detractors, but by keeping this kind of stuff quiet are we actually doing more harm that the Tech haters can do?

Should we put a post on the open board, thanking Ronny for his efforts for our school, but laying the blame for this where it belongs?
