Any posts after the Grambling game would be appreciated since there is no media coverage.Let's hope the rest of the team can give our starters a rest for that game and still come out with a win....we don't want the Grambling team to embarrass us again like last year.GO DAWGS !!!
I think we should all consider letting Scott Beder know what we think of his writing.
Resting our starters would probably be a smart move. On Sunday the team looked tired. We had a very tough week, both physical and mental, the big comeback against State, beating ULL and then the Nevada series. Its tough not letting your starters play against Grambling because it usually is a "stat" game but we've got 5 games in 5 days ending with the most important series of the year with Fresno, winner will most likely win the WAC regular season. I would be tempted to rest all the starters on Tuesday and probably even rest a few on Wed. Our subs ain't too bad so they shouldn't have any trouble against Grambling. problem with that is, last year we took out the starters up 9-0 and lost
Different group of subs though.....this year they have mostly been freshmen.
true, but id rather see 21-1 like earlier this year than risk losing to the worst team in the country

im surprised mosely is starting against grmabling. he pitched well against ull, maybe wade thinks they would do better against him the 2nd time around?
hopefully lassere will get to pitch against grambling and have a good outing.

it was good to see brandon hudson get some good work in friday night, he has pitched well for someone who had not pitched all year, maybe he will be a good bullpen option for us in big games.
True, but I would start most of the non-starters, who by the way are pretty good, make it their game and let them win it. If they struggle, then bring the other guys in. Problem with bringing the subs in after a lead is the starters can't go back in if it gets shaky. Sim said himself that every time he looked up his young guys were beating the veterans in pre-season intrasquads. Some people might not understand but its very, very difficult to play 5 games in 5 days. Add to this going to class, studying, taking tests. Its not easy.
On yesterday's Coach's show he said that he was going with Mosely on Tuesday with a pitch count against Grambling so he could bring him back on Saturday of he needed him against Fresno St -
He said would of liked to go back with him against the Cajuns, but he felt the ability to have him to pitch twice in a week outweighed that -
He did say he was going with an all left handed crew against the Cajuns wensday again -

Originally, they did not have ULL game on a short week with this critical series. Key to this club will be how the youngsters hold up under a full college season playing at a much higher level. Big difference compared to H.S. How our younger arms with less college experience hold up last third of season will be a big factor.
I've thought the same thing - especially playing this extra games right now due to weather postponements -

It might not seem like much but the 7 inning/9 inning deal is big. Its only 2 extra innings but over a season it adds up not only for pitchers but also position players. You often see a young players production go down in the latter half of his freshmen season. These guys are used to playing 7, alot of them only 5 due to the mercy rule. Its tough.
