Apparently, Kyle was drafted as a pitcher. He was listed as an LHP in the draft. I thought he was a much better hitter than a pitching prospect.

Wow! Congrats to Kyle! I assumed he was an outfield prospect.

In Mark Threlkeld, the Royals selected their first third baseman of the draft, and perhaps their most intelligent new player as well. Prior to matriculating to Louisiana Tech, Threlkeld was his high school's senior class valedictorian, and he's currently majoring in construction engineering. When he wasn't busy doing math problems this spring, the 21-year-old junior hit .309/.401/.517 with nine home runs and 45 RBIs for the Bulldogs, earning second team All-WAC honors.

I could have sworn I heard on the "Local Sports" report yesterday on 97.7 that ULM was expected to have some draftees, but no mention of Louisiana Tech at all. Guess that didn't pan out, huh?
