    Mitchell Ryan

Mitchell Ryan is a wide receiver-hurdler out of Keller High School. He has signed a scholorship with Texas State to play football as wide receiver. He is 5' 10" and weighs about 180. HE IS A BLUE CHIPPER THAT IS UNHEARD OF by the big boys in D1. Not even noticed. In the district meet last week, he ran 13.65 in the prelims and 13.76 in the finals finishing second to Clint Renfro from Carroll High Shcool who ran 13.67 for the win. Clint Renfro is the son of Mike Renfro that played for the Dallas Cowboys. He is going to TCU to play football and run track. This young man, Mitchell Ryan, is better than Renfro. IN the final race that night, Ryan led Renfro the whole race, hitting every hurdle, until he hit the last hurdle so hard that it slowed him just enought for Renfro to run by him for the win. In my opinon, he can run and catch passes as well as Renfro and is a better hurdler because of his technique and focus. I have seen some really good hurdlers in my forty years of coaching and this kid is second to none. Some of you guys that are in with the footbball and track coaches need to put our coaches on to this young man immediately. Before the district meet, he hadn't even been listed in the top ten in the DFW area in the hurdles. He showed his stuff in the prelim race at the district meet. This white boy can run. Call Kevin Atkinson, the head football coach at Keller, Monday morning and get after this kid. He needs to be playing football and running track for Louisiana Tech. SAT score--1150. HE HAD NOOOOOOOOOOO D1 OFFERS TO PLAY FOOTBALL OR RUN TRACK.

if he has signed a scholarship with texas st., then it is too late.

unless he wants to come and sit out for a year.

What if Tech signed him to a track scholarship and he decided to take that instead of the TX St. football scholarship?

Just trying to figure out a way to get a shot at him.

I am guessing that track does not give full scholarships and that he would have to sit out a year in FB anyway.

We did have a few freshmen play last year (Wheeler, Beveridge, etc.) so there would be a chance he could. But yeah, most likely he would not play a whole lot anyway.
