I still get calls from NSU wanting me to teach 1 or 2 sections of this or that as an adjunct. No way! Happy to say my other avenues of income are more than enough, and my time is worth more than what NSU is willing to pay.

I do my "work for too little pay" in coaching. At least I can enjoy that!
Same situation here. I just chose teaching and you chose coaching. I teach at Tyler Junior College. Last semester, I taught 4 courses, just because I had the extra time. That netted $1300/month with no benefits for 4 months. Hardly worth the time and is below the poverty level. Thank goodness for my consulting work. I don't see how some of those people that JUST do that make it. They are living below poverty. 4 courses is the maximum for an adjunct.

I just love teaching. I would do that full time, if I could afford to live on that money. It is, basically, a hobby that pays for itself.
