Do we want to ask for permission to use the state T? That should be done sooner than later.
see i thought we were not using it in my original design of our logo thats why i didn't use it but i mean maybe we should do that before the final design goes up since it is a trademark and it is copyrighted . . .
From the lips of someone in TECH administration a few months ago when I asked the same question...
"What are they going to do?? Sue some of their most loyal TECH fans??"
That said, better safe then sorry... ask away.

"T"
as an official Tech organization, why would we have to ask permission to use a logo of our parent organization?
Jen... the stroke and drop shadow IMO make it look less like wordart from microsoft word. also, when you look at a font that is college or school like it has a white line around the outside. Not to pull Quang into this, but if you notice on his logo for BBB there is a drop shadow, it gives an image an extra dimension.

i think the huge emboss does that but with printing that onto shirts the drop shadow would have to be eliminated but i still need the psd for the blues site since i am working on it when i get time to when i am at work on breaksOriginally Posted by jford

Being a student organization does not give you the ability to use Tech logos without permission. Been there, done that. You can probably get permission if you ask, but I'd ask just to be sure.Originally Posted by jford
And the drop shadow also makes it look more 1980s. Lots of people think they make things look more designed, but I think overdesigned might be a better way to think of it. That's 2 graphic designers (Jen_Leigh and my wife) that think it's a bad idea to put the dropshadows on there.
Hmm....that's a good idea. I wonder who thought about that.Originally Posted by Juice752

haha!!! I'm trying to find a nicer font!
It's easy to get permission for the logo...there is a form on the Tech website that you can use...you simply choose the one you want (solid black or blue/red or whatever...there's several) and then state your reason for using it...when the form is approved (usually within 24 hours) you'll receive an email with the logo attached...I asked for 3 different logos when making fliers a while back, so I'll look for the link and try to post it for ya!
