I went to high school with 2 girls from trinidad and tobago, nice girls. They live in Miami now and go to Florida International Univ on pom scholorships. I know that helped you tremendously
when I read your reply the first time, I mis-read "pom" as "porn" and thought, "they give scholarships for that at FIU?". My eyes are tired...Originally Posted by TulsaPup

just ask him what it's like to live there. It'll just be me and my wife with the occasional visit from family and friends. Thanks.Originally Posted by techfan01
Gotta me an interesting time of your life to live there!
My next door neighbor is from Trinidad. She just got married moved here about a year and a half ago. I think their economy has been doing pretty good as of late, compared to the stagnation in most of the rest of the Carribbean. Trinis seem to be a very friendly people on the whole....what part of the country will you be living in? I will ask her about it for you. Trinidad is one of the most developed of the Caribbean islands, and has more of a "real" economy with a lot of oil and mineral wealth, resources, and businesses. Definately not a place where they depend solely on tourism. Also is becoming a big banking center. The sister island of Tobago, on the other hand, is VERY sleepy. A true Caribbean backwater, with excellent beaches, fishing, and diving, and not a lot else.
