Preview: LA Tech vs. ULM

Hope this is the last of the three game series experiment. This is not and has not been a "rivalry" since the 80's. It's practice, but win or lose our RPI takes a hit. This year RPI is irrelevant anyway. Please stop this experiment.
I hate to say it, but the 3 best attended Tech games so far this season - midweek or weekend have be midweeks against - ULM, USL and Grambling with very few visitors in attendance
So evidently the fanbase view all 3 as significant games to attend and thus rivals

None of the 3 looked well attended on TV. The actual numbers have to be way down even if the reported numbers are not. They continue to use the same formula to count attendance in all sports…add season ticket sales to actual and comp tickets for an “announced” attendance

NSU Demons whipped LSU last night 13-3, first 10-run rule loss to a non-conference foe in LSU baseball history. I post this just to say there is good baseball played throughout Louisiana. And you can never take an in-state foe for granted. Oh, and BTW, I saw where LSUS was 25-0 and ranked #1 in the nation in NAIA. That was a couple weeks ago, don't know what their record is now.
In general, I think it is good to play in-state foes for midweek games. Makes sense. I think we also need to load up on SEC opponents and some of the better Big 12 teams to boost our RPI.

LSUS is 44-0 overall, 27-0 in conference. They hold NAIA record for most wins to start the season and longest win streak. They had a stretch where they beat a team 37-0, 15-0, & 42-4. All 3 games were 7 innings.

Sounds like the coaches agreed that it was a meaningless game. Oh well, only the Tech season ticket holders got the short end.

Kind of sad our game was cancelled. Is that weather-related?
Why is it sad? They had already moved the game to 7:00 so it would have been after 10:00 before it was over.
Weather will be the excuse, but I doubt ulm ever pulled out of the parking lot. Like I said, only Tech season ticket holders get the shaft and LB isn’t concerned about that. He it’s too worried about getting swept this weekend.
It wouldn’t have been a good thing to possibly lose a season series to ULM especially going into a huge weekend series with DBU. On the other hand the Dawgs could’ve used the practice to get out of their slumping play of late. Now we’ll all have to wait and see what team of ours shows up Friday night (if we get to play then).
I kind of like watching the Diamond Dawgs play. Yeah, sometimes they can be frustrating, but I always tune in the next game and root for 'em all over again. I like college baseball. I watch a lot of it...I mean a lot. It's entertainment. I will watch college baseball tonight, just won't be Tech.
