Well, well, well. I can remember when several habitual posters to this site considered the Sun Belt Conference to be on the wrong side of the baseball tracks. That was before Southern Miss was invited to join the Sun Belt and apparently La Tech did not get such an invite.Originally Posted by dawg80

I'm not sure which posters you are referring to, but most knowledgeable Tech fans know, have always known, the Belt was a good baseball league. It just got better with the addition of USM.
Still, top to bottom CUSA is ranked higher than the Belt in conference RPI. The bottom of CUSA, with the exception of SHSU this year, is way better than the bottom, up through the middle, of the Belt. The Belt has 3 or 4 very good programs, and they are legit very good, but the rest of the conference is lousy to mediocre at best.
For baseball, Tech is better served being in CUSA. We just need to get our act together.

You claim that you never injected Hitler into one of our discussions about Coach Kim Mulkey, but you did. As for the Belch! Hah! I have in the past maligned the Belch. Mostly out of fun, of course. But I don't recall including their baseball in that.

Now that has been handled, back to the reason for this thread.
DBU is in the Baton Rouge regional and WKU is in the Oxford regional. DBU opens vs. Rhode Island, and WKU drew Georgia Tech.

CUSA eliminated. Second straight year going 1-4.
DBU was surprisingly disappointing.
SEC= Bama, #1 Vandy, #7 Georgia, Florida, Kentucky, Ms St & #2 Texas all eliminated and there are still some regionals to play. Clearly the SEC is way overrated and gets too much favoritism.
Hopefully Little Rock will eliminate LSU tonight. LR is on an amazing run, not bad for a team that finished the regular season 8 games below .500.
