    Saints/Cowboys Thoughts?

I thought New Orleans looked great on offense today. I love how they utilize Bush, who had a great game, even without one breakaway play to point to. The defense looked good as well, but I'm not a believer -- it's Cleveland. Winslow looks like a star, however.

Dallas will be very frustrating to watch this year. The defense looked good, and T.O. is as advertised, but Bledsoe is maddening. I was screaming at the TV for him to just throw the damn ball up for T.O. at times, and he made some absolute bone-headed plays. He isn't nearly the player he looked in the preseason.

Dallas's O isn't ready to live up to the Superbowl hype. New Orleans looked like a 7 or 8 win football team today.

    2 things.

Jax is a very good team. I don't want to take anything away from them.

Bledsoe is not what he was 6-10 years ago. He is not a very good QB. This loss can be placed squarely upon his shoulders. He missed wide open WR's. Threw stupid picks. Forget winning/losing as a team for today. This was Drews loss.

You are so right. The question I have is, why is nobody talking about them very much?

Oh, yeah Saints have too tough of a schedule this year I only see 4 maybe 5 wins, and they still have the same offensive problems, great between the 20's and can't punch it in the endzone.

The Saints played pretty well. Bush looked good. Games like yesterday are ones they usually find a way to lose. A lots got to happen before I'm willing to say they're improved, but they won yesterday and I'm glad for that. It'd be nice for them to have a good team but with the history we all have with them it takes more W's than L's to prove the point.

Let's see if they can make it two in a row. I hope so. Would love to have a winner in New Orleans.

    Cowboys.....I just don't care.

    Gentlemen,

Lets not get carried away. That poor effort by the Cowboys yesterday would have been enough to beat the Saints by about 14 points. The Cowboys defense played fine. They were just on the field too long. They are easily a top-5 defense. If Bledsoe doesn't miss a wide open T.O. twice and throw 3 int's the Cowboys would have won going away. They will make the playoffs and will be around for awhile. The Saints on the other hand..........

Like I said, Jax is a good team and Del Rio is a very underrated coach. Besides they have one of the 2 best FG kickers in the league. :icon_wink: Josh made one and missed a tough 49 yarder. He's gonna be around for a long time, just like Matt. It's too bad Boniol isn't in the league anymore it would be cool to have 3 Tech kickers playing every Sunday.

And if and if and if. The new Saints running game, with Bush and Deuce, just might keep the Cowgirl Defense on the field too long as well. No wait, Bush's scores will be nano second ones .

If Jerry Jones was smart, he would have kept Boniol many more years.

I know it was pre-season but those first few series of Saints 1st team vs. Cowboys 1st team showed no indication of the Saints being able to do that. In fact it looked like a Pro team playing a Jr. High team.

    Dude, it's the Browns.

Bigdog and I, as Cowboys fans, gave the Saints their props but, c'mon, they're not beating the 'Boys.

By the way, did anyone manage to fight sleep and watch the Chargers/Raiders game last night? I have never seen a team look as bad on offense as Oakland did in this game, and that's not hyperbole. Also, although I love Demarcus Ware, I'm a bit upset we chose him over Merriman. That guy seems like he's gonna end up as an all-time caliber player.

Yeh, I think the Saints are going to have fits with a team that can pass the ball. I had confidence that we would seal the win yesterday, though. I just trust Brees much more than Brooks. When Brooks was QB, no lead was safe. I still think that we will have tons of trouble when face a team that can throw. Lum, come on man, the Saints beat the Cowboys when the Saints blew and the Boys made the playoffs. They surely would do it this year, since neither one of them will make it. The Boys have a tough row to hoe in a very tough division, especially if the Eagles keep looking good. I am afriad this will be a disappointing season for the Boys. They needed to beat the Jags.

I think the Jags are overlooked because A) they dont have any offensive notables B) People dont understand how good their D is. Many people dont think the Jags will have the O to compete. Leftwich is okay, but he doesnt have any proven receivers, although I thik Jones and Wilford will be pretty good. It is just a matter of time before Taylor gets hurt again, then they have to play a RB that has never started in the NFL. Their D is very good though. They should have a good shot at the WC because they will at least go 4-2 in division.

Oakland looked like the Saints when they were a franchise team. That was the worst performance I have ever seen in the NFL in the decade that I have followed it closely. It was absolutely pathetic. Brooks has never, I repeat never, stepped up in the pocket. He drops back into pressure. It is the damnedest thing I ahve ever seen. Of course, the Chargers were just crushing the pocket by the third quarter, but before that, Brooks was giving them sacks. It got ugly. Oh yeh and Tomlinson is going to be considered one of the best backs to ever play the game. I didnt know what to expect when he came out of TCU, but I only had to watch one game to see that this guy was going to be special.

I agree. LT is an amazing back with NO weakness. The guy is just an amazing talent. I watched him at TCU and knew he was going to be good but not this good. I think he is the best RB in the league.

What is it again, Saints winning 4 or 5 times in a row against the Cowgirls?
