The problem I have with this particular justification is that it is way too broad. There are no guidelines as to what health of the mother means. Someone could say that they have a headache and get an abortion. I am pro life anyway, but would make concessions in the event the mothers life was in danger.

You implied that you supported abortion in the case of the health of the mother. Maybe I misunderstood what you were getting at, but if you do agree that abortion is acceptable for the health of the mother, what exactly does "health" mean? Doctors and medical professionals have always had input on healthcare legislation in past.
