I didn’t say it does, but just make sure you realize this wasn’t a democrat thing, nor a Hollywood thing. This was a bunch of privileged adults that unethically used their financial privilege to give their kids an extra leg up against people that didn’t have the same advantage.

Unlike you and your socialist democrats, we conservatives don't cover for our own when they screw up.

Truth be known, the Republicans you are calling out are probably RINOs who look down their nose at true conservatism, the ones like that traitor McCain and fake mormon Mitt Romney

It's "unethical" for parents to help their kids? Well, then say what you will about me, but I help my kids, now my grandkids all I can, and will continue to do so.

I don't see the felony or even misdemeanor crimes in this. Not by what the parents did, anyway. Perhaps someone can point out the criminal element in this story.

Then there's all this boo-hoo crapola about "some poor kid denied an opportunity" to get a soccer or swim or tennis scholarship to Harvard! LOL! Even the trio on FOX Morning were lamenting these unknown kids. I'm sure all the networks are beating the bushes looking for a poster child to parade around.

Look, any kid capable of qualifying for a minor sport scholarship to Harvard...high GPA, high scores on the ACT/SAT, and actually was kind of good in that sport in HS, landed on their feet at an equally prestigious college somewhere, Yale, Penn, Dartmouth.... there are NO "poor kids" now hawking apples on a street corner because of this "scandal." This BS being pushed by the media that some "disadvantaged" kid has been denied an opportunity to attend college is total BS! They either got in, along with the Hollywood kids, or ended up at another expensive school.

This story has already been pushed out of the headlines while the media tries to stir the pot with other crapola. And, as a story, it will completely die soon. Oh, you might see a blurb in a few months about one of those actresses paying a fine and being given a suspended sentence or something, but that'll be it.

And the FBI wasted 200 agents on this crap? Well, now I see where we can cut the budget, obviously don't need so many FBI agents who do REAL work.

Now that I can agree with in your post. Those 200 FBI agents should be investigating the Hillary scandals and Obama with his corrupt DOJ's heads like Lynch.

Oh yeah! here come the scummiest of the scummiest...some attorney has filed, or will be filing, a class action lawsuit on behalf of all those poor students deprived of their opportunity due to this "scandal." Two students at Stanford are apparently "ground zero" the poster children for this lawsuit. Yes...at Stanford. Poor babies, they were deprived of getting a free ride to a prestigious university and had to attend Stanford instead!

Wonder what Stanford thinks of being classified as an inferior university...

Remember the poster child David Hogg from the Florida school shootings? He was on every cable news show for months, one of the "stars" at a gun control march in DC. Well ole David couldn't get admitted into Florida, or Florida State, or UCF. However after his 15 sec of fame, David was admitted to.... wait for it.... Harvard. Now that this whole scandal has broken, some are asking how David and another of his classmates that was part of the Stoneman Douglas 5, made it into Harvard. The bottom 25 percentile of Harvard applicants average 1460 on SAT. David made 1240. His grades weren't stellar either. So how did he get in?

A lot of schools look at your extra curricular activities and try to see what you might add to their student body. Someone with a compelling backstory and early political activism is a shoe-in.

Fixed it for you. I doubt that the Covington High School kid would get same treatment if he was below 25th percentile.

Maybe if he were involved in a school shooting and was politically active.

"unethical to help your kids - I don't think anyone is saying that, at least not on this board. There are probably some that think any advantage you provide your kid is inherently unfair, but I don't think anyone here is making that argument.

There is definately a bribery element in this. Not sure exactly how the law is written, but I would assume some laws were broken in that aspect. Also probably some wire fraud and other potential issues.

I generally agree with this, having to go to Brown instead of Harvard or something isn't the end of the world. I think in general we overestimate the value of those big names. Some of the schools listed aren't exactly the Ivy league. Somebody actually paid a bribe to get into Texas?

Yeah the rich people will probably find a way to bribe their way out of any serious punishment.

The FBI task force does seem pretty excessive.

The shocking thing for some of this is that many of the kids actually graduated. It seems like if you faked your SAT and then still needed a boost from a sport you don't even play you would have a mighty struggle to keep your grades up and graduate. It doesn't sound like that's the case and I think that is as big of a problem as people bribing their way in.

    Such BS!

Can you imagine the media's reaction to Trump pulling this as a stunt like this rich kid?

Beto asks for gas money to fill up minivan to lecture Iowa about ‘climate change’

    MARCH 15TH, 2019
    BY MARTIN WALSH

After frantically warning that climate change will end the world in 12 years if serious action isn’t taken, Robert “Beto” O’Rourke is now begging his followers to give him gas money for his minivan.
The failed Texas senatorial candidate announced at the crack of down on Thursday morning that he’s running for president and seeking the Democratic nomination.
After a few events and media appearances, O’Rourke hit the road in Iowa and showed just how big of a hypocrite he is.
“Quick update from the road in Iowa. We just filled up the Dodge Grand Caravan for $28.53. Your donations are literally keeping us fueled up as we begin this campaign. Chip in $28.53 now to keep us on the road,” O’Rourke wrote, adding a link to Secure Blue, a website that only accepts donations to be made to liberals.
