There is a third option, which is most likely.... no compromise and debt ceiling is raised. Nobody gets anything and the debt continues to increase. That's a win for Republicans (no new taxes) and a win for Obama (huge debt remains).

They need to close all the so-called "green-energy" loopholes and the loophole that excludes union dues from taxation (especially since unions are mostly just PACs that poor workers are forced to belong to).

There are others, but lets see how serious they are about closing loopholes.

I touted Ron Paul in the 2008 republican primaries. I think that he is an honest person but the fact remains that he has no leadership position in the republican party.

If you would stop and pay attention to what I have actually posted, you would see I'm all for funding research into alternative energy. But, I am not for completely dismantling the current system until it is able to be fully replaced.

I don't have to tell them anything. Like you, they willfully ignore the details.
