'HAMILTON' stars haven't voted in years...

Why is that surprising? People like the Hamilton cast are so consumed with being downtrodden, overlooked, and their self pity that they simply consume all of their energy using their theatrical platform to try and shame and pull everyone else down to their level. Not voting all goes back to how they were raised and the education system they were in, First of all, parents need to teach the importance of voting (although some do not know themselves) and why it is a right and duty. Second, the education system needs to go back to teaching students how to think and educating them in the basic skills to be productive members of society, not how to test well and keep their school in a certain category. Teach students how to think and problem solve and the rest will naturally follow.

Maybe I did not make that clear enough, teaching students how to think, reason and evaluate, figure things out using their own brain and not a nationalized method that is developed at the national level and expected to be implemented at the local level. To me, common core is an effort to nationalize our education system and take away the locals ability to decide how they want THEIR children educated. I am not referring to a curriculum that teaches kids i.e., how our nation works, but how our leaders used there experience and wisdom arrive at solutions.

My "teaching kids how to think" and your example are two different things, I agree that common core wants to teach our kids how to think, but not in the sense I am referring to. Seems that most kids no longer know how to think rationally, they do not know how to tackle a problem and come up with the right answer using what ever process happens to work for them. Common core allows them to tackle the problem using the common core process and come up with an answer that is considered right no matter if that answer is correct or not.

That is the difference, the kid knowing how to think and problem solve and come up with a solution. We need to stop playing the testing game and get to educating our children in a fashion that promotes individual problem solving and coming up with the RIGHT answer.

Again, I think you are confusing the common core approach of teaching kids WHAT to think, versus how to think, rationalize, and logically come up with an answer or solution.

Also need to add that now everything even remotely conservative or right leaning is considered fascist yet those on the left that support outright socialist and communist causes get offended and worse when you call them socialist and communist for supporting those causes.
