    Business Manager:

Ana Webb begins her sixth year at Louisiana Tech and is responsible for the day‑to‑day business operations of the athletic department, including overseeing the individual budgets for 16 varsity sports, monitoring athletic funds of the Louisiana Tech Athletic Foundation, serving as liaison with the university’s business offices and supervising the Athletic Ticket Office.

Webb served as the administrative assistant to the athletic director from 2000-2005 and was responsible for a variety of day-to-day administrative functions for the athletic director’s office, as well as coordinating all meetings and travel arrangements for the Athletic Director.

Webb graduated from Louisiana Tech University in 1997 with a bachelor’s degree in elementary education. She enjoys spending time with her family and taking mini vacations on the weekends.

She resides in Ruston with her husband, James, five-year-old daughter, Madison, and two-year-old son, Trey. Her husband James, also a Tech graduate, serves as the Associate Comptroller at Louisiana Tech.

We have been told for YEARS that we need more money for the budget. Our biggest revenue producing sport has this type of promotion every year:

RUSTON – All military personnel past and present and all high school students will be admitted free this weekend to Louisiana Tech’s home football game against Utah State at 6 p.m. at Joe Aillet Stadium.

The last payment on the Wyly Athletic Center is scheduled for 2007 according to the latest Louisiana Legislative Audit to a tune or $1,050,000. How is this going to get paid in 2007? What is the plan to have this paid off in 2007? How did something that was built in 2000 with a large donation carry this type of payment?

I bet they have a more experienced staff in the athletic departments at Southlake Carroll or Highland Park high schools

And the bowling decision - that will go down as one of the most assanine decisions ever made in the history of D1 athletics

Was there even any consideration to bring back women's golf? Maybe play in a conference other than the SWAC....

The latest upgrades to Tech's facilities are:

Field Turf: Paid by a plan or one generous alum?
Lights: Paid by a plan or one generous alum?
Fence around Stadium: Paid by a plan or a group of Alumni?
Baseball: Paid by a plan or a group of Alumni?

Are these improvments actually paid for, or will there be a very large debt in the future?

They listed recent occomplishments over the PA system. I only caught part of it, but heard something mentioned about a new Softball and Soccer dressing room to be built with funds donated by an alumni. Anybody know about this?

Thanks to whoever that donor is, but folks need to realize the NCAA made us do this.

I didn't hear this. I heard something about addition of soccer dressing room (don't know where they are talking about) and then I heard the addition of the softball scoreboard. The way I understood it, soccer had already had the dressing room. I was wondering if they just cleared out a store room in the TAC and set something up in there.

They stated that the improvements were payed for with funds from an anonymous donor, student fees, CHAMPS, and something else. Although they announed the fence project, they didn't aknowledge BBB.

16 Varsity Sports, if you combine indoor and outdoor T&F 14 Varsity sports. Eleven (11) head coaches, of which one is basically volunteering his time and another is an assistiant coach in another sport. Therefore, 14 sports, 9 full-time head coaches on staff.

On Oct. 4, 1989, the Spirit of 1988, a bronze Bulldog statue guarding the south entrance to Aillet Stadium, was unveiled to commemorate head coach Joe Raymond Peace’s Tech team of 1988, which endured the brutal schedule in order to meet Division I-A scheduling requirements.
Louisiana Tech 2006 Football Media Guide.

The Spirit of 1988 is meant to commemorate the team that had to play at Mississippi State, at Texas A&M, and at Florida State. Here we are almost twenty years later and we are playing at Nebraska, at Texas A&M and at Clemson.

We do it for different reasons now...today we have an AD that doesn't understand big business or the need to pursue corporate sponsors. He'd rather hold his hand out and ask for an extra $10 bucks when selling you a $50 ticket to an out-of-town game. He's a real prince that way!
I'm an asshole! What's your excuse?
