    St. Louis game

The St. Louis Billikens return seven of their top eight scroers back from a year ago. They joined the Atlantic 10 conference last year and finished tied for third after being picked to finished at the bottom. They've got a big man in Ian Vouyoukas (6'10" 270) that will be a load to handle. They also have a pair of sophomore guards in Kevin Lisch and Tommie Liddell who can score.

If we continue to run and force turnovers we will stay in the ball game, but if we are forced to run our offense in the halfcourt and get sloppy with the ball it'll be a long afternoon today. I'm not worried too much about rebounding on the offensive end because we will run and that will create more possessions and shot attempts. We can't afford to give up second and third chance opportunities though.

An article on latechsports.com says the game is being broadcast on KXKZ-FM. Is it on?

They are a NCAA team this year that will win a lot of games. Check out billikens.com

There board is very active and the last time tech beat them in saint louis the billikens were drawing about 10,000 fans a game. They still draw 6,000 or more a game for conference games.

If we were to win, it would be a good rpi win over a team that will finish in the top 50 rpi team.

St. Louis made some shots late in the first half and we're down 43-32 at the half. Our defense has to get better. They are shooting shooting 55% from the field so far.

You don't have to have a Paul Milsap, but you do have to have some inside presence on offense and defense even if you are going more up tempo and have to depend on jumpers and outside shooting. Otherwise, lower shooting percentage due to more from outside will get even worse. Team will struggle just to win half their games in my opinion and I did see them twice in fall practice and scrimmage, but not a lot as some of you may have.

Have not looked at the box score yet but heard slu had 21 turn overs. How the hell tech lost if that is the case I don't know.

Allowing your opponent to hit 12 of 16 from behind the arc will do it almost every time.

    Re: St. Louis game

i understand it's early, 1st game of the year, and st. louis is a tourney team, but we've got to become a much better team real quickly or it could be a long season. these are the types of teams we should compete with and beat -- a good, but not great (top 15) team on a neutral court. we're not supposed to lose by 22 -- even if it's the first game of the year. i saw where a&m blew out lamar tonight (winning by 40 with 4 minutes left). if we can't come away with one win in this tourney, it's gonna be a tough year.
