Gov. Landry says Woodward will NOT be allowed to hire the next coach. Probably a sensible policy. But! I don't like our governor getting involved in something so unimportant as the hiring of a football coach.

I mean, it's Louisiana. His constituents care far more about the next lsu football coach than they do about literally any other issue.

I disagree! When there is the possibility of pissing away $50-75 million to buyout a contract or cancel an ill-conceived project, the governor should have his nose in it!

Well, I have always subscribed to the quality theory of pushing decision-making down to the lowest level possible. In a case like this, the president of a university and the athletic director should be qualified to make sound/smart decisions. Can't always depend on the guvnar to bail ya out.

It is apparent that ours are not. So in that case, the higher magistrate should be capable of replacing them with those who are.

Speaking of LSU...the AD has been fired too, BTW, in case you haven't heard. But was watching some of the Tulane game last night...whose coach John Sumrall is high on LSU's list of candidates...and the TV guys were discussing all the coaching vacancies and who might fill them. Lane Kifflin's name in mentioned with all the major openings, like LSU and Penn State. One of the TV guys says why should Kifflin consider leaving Ole Miss for LSU when LSU is "so dysfunctional"? Hah! yep, it's true, LSU can be a great program, when they have the right coach but there's always too much political shenanigans connected to it.

Hope lsu beats Bama and the wokesters demand the interim be hired permanently. Even our goofy governor won’t be able to stop it. Louisiana taxpayers will save tons of money and lsu will continue to suck.
