Bowling is a game where people, who hate exercise, gather to smoke cigarettes, drink beer, scratch their fat bellies and talk very loudly about how pitiful their lives are. At least that is one memory I have from the 1960's at the Airline Bowling Center.

Soccer is the beautiful game. 'nough said.

What about the Kenner Lanes on Vets? I remember the first time I heard the Stones signing the lines, "I ain't got no satisfaction" while playing. However, it was a pretty dirty places.

We went to the one on Airline Hwy. My aunt and uncle were in a leaque and my parents would go watch them bowl, as we kids, all the cousins, spent time in the game room or ran around making noise. Not exactly a healthy environment to be in. I inhaled less smoke fighting wildfire for the Forest Service!

I bowled at a place off Williams Blvd right near the Kenner YMCA, but I regret I cant remember the name. I have happy birthday party memories of that dingy, dirty place.

Now on Airline Hwy, there was a roller skating rink. Skate Country! It was rad!
