If you have budgeted $____ to spend towards Tech athletics, would it better to buy as many season tickets as possible or buy the number of tickets actually needed and contibute the difference to Champs?

I've got a similar question. I'm on a very limited budget. I can probably swing two season tickets, or put that same amount toward champs...my gut says to buy the season tickets for numbers purposes.

I would think the tickets. Either way, Athletics gets to count the money, but with the tickets, they can count as paid attendance.
Dawg88,
I could be wrong (and Dwayne probably knows the details) but I think you should buy season tickets for the sport that you specifically want to support and donate to CHAMPS for general athletic support.
In other words, ticket sales for football go directly to the football budget. CHAMPS donations can go anywhere that JO wants them to go. So, either way Tech athletics will get the money, but the only way you can give to one specific sport is to buy season tickets for that sport.
Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
Give to Champs if you want to claim a tax deduction when itemizing, otherwise buying tickets is an okay way to donate, plus those extra tickets can keep someone 300 lbs getting up close and personal...

I think that attendance is an either/or thing. If there are more behinds in the seats you can count that. If more tickets are sold you can count that. I asked Flo about it one time and she said when the students are at the game, actual attendance usually is what they count.
I think the NCAA wanted to count only actual attendance at one time, but I think they backed out, otherwise, UAB would never show the attendance numbers they do.
Whatever, just do what you can!
