That's not why GWB invaded Iraq. I really believe he thought Iraq was a threat. Was it? Probably not. I think he made an honest mistake that many, many Democrats also made. Everything isn't a conspiracy Salty.

If we had to do it all over again, would I want to invade? Probably not. BUT weapons or no weapons Sadaam was violating international law , over and over again. He brought this on himself and his people not us. He is the bad guy, not us.

Once again as for our (the United States) part. I think we made mistakes. I think most of them were honest mistakes.

Bigdog, the reality is that the "intelligence" was molded to fit policy. The Downing Street Memo proves that. GWB made up his mind to invade Iraq and the CIA went along with the fatansy that Saddam and his mythical WMD posed a threat to the civilized world. The mass media, including the NY Times, peddled the myth and the gutless US politicans supported it. Please notice that NATO knew the real scoop and refused to follow the village idiot.


The bottom line is that "honest mistakes" had nothing to do with our invasion of Iraq. It was a cold and calculated plan to topple Saddam and in that regard it was successful. However, the ends do not justify the means. Any competent General will tell you that pre-invasion Saddam posed no credible threat to the national secuirty of the United States.

Violating international law is no reason for the United States to invade another country. That's the job of diplomacy, the Security Council, international courts and trade origanizations.

Probably will before it's all over. If not us, Israel might if they will get a real leader of men instead of that wimpy liberal Prime Minister Ehud Olmert they have now.

Besides, the Bible predicts Damascus being utterly destroyed and never inhabited again in the "end days".
