She was selected by LA in the dispersal draft. Figured I'd post since the news bot didn't pick it up.

I noticed that on the ESPN ticker, but what is that anyways??
The Charlotte Sting is no more........... They are folding, so the players are dispersed among other teams.
Ayana has had flashes of brilliance in the WNBA, but has never got the minutes, so her stats don't jump off the page. At L.A., I imagine she will be another role player off the bench, as well. Hopefully, she will get a better shot at play time. Every time she went in the game for Detroit, she would make some noise, but would be pulled back out after the starter was rested. At Charlotte, she continued to come off the bench, do well, and then be pulled.
I will never forget when she scored 36 points against Washington in 2003. I hope she gets a chance to shine this summer again.
I saw her play a game for Detroit, when some of the bigs, including Ford, were in foul trouble. Bird got a bunch of PT late, and made the most of it. Something like 10 pts, 5 boards, a steal, some great hustle plays...had the TV guys singing her praises. Then the next time Detroit played, she barely saw the floor.
Good luck to her.
I think you could take it as a lesson in how not to market. I haven't read why, though.
There are plenty of teams that are making it.
As for Charlotte, it might be something to do with the Sting being the counterpart of the Hornets and the Hornets moving a few years back.
I am just guessing. I know what you are attempting to start here, but I will stay out of that.
I think the only reason there is an NBA franchise there is because MJ really wants one in his home state and is willing to help float it.
The NBA team gave up ownership of the Sting as has occured with many of the other WNBA teams. They thought they had a new owner lined up in Kansas City , but evidently that did not work out. Several WNBA teams have moved under non-NBA ownership and are doing just fine.
Ha, Ha, Ha. Man, it is tough to be a WBB fan on this board .
