The WAC has dropped to an all time low ranking as the 17th best conference (by RPI) behind such giants as the American East, Colonial, West Coast, and Mid-American. Can you name more than one or two schools from all these conferences combined? Losing to BSU, NV, EKU, and ULM should be grounds for dismissal not a contract extension.

Old Dominion once had that same "tradition and reputation". Where are they now?

I really like the town of Ruston and there are a lot of good people there. But, their inability to see beyond the horizon really limits Tech Athletics in many ways. Buddy's article is just one more example of that. I don't doubt that other teams have improved, whether it was because of the Lady Techsters or just the evolution of women's basketball, but our program needs a jolt to get back to where it used to be.

I like Buddy, but this article lacks critical thought.

I think it lacks ANY thought. Regardless of his "thoughts" - the team is bad.

You need to read it again, Champ. That's Long's quote, not the Boise coach. Here's the entire quote:

They printed an article about the Tech Athletic Dept. getting a clean NCAA-mandated audit but will not publish anything about the Carr Report.

Amen! You don't even have to read what Buddy Davis writes because it is all the same, nothing ever controversial. RDL was good for a while when the Professor was writing there.

In think two things are going on, in the WAC, at the same time. They are indirectly related. One, some programs in the WAC, Boise among them, have gotten better, but that would have been true with or without Tech present in the conference. Perhaps, for the other WBB programs, Tech was held up as a beacon, of what is possible.

Secondly, this Tech team happens to SUCK! This team has already lost to the lowly likes of ulm, and E. Ky. and SFA...for Pete's sake! Other WAC teams beating Tech is just more examples of just how bad this team is.
