Hot Dog - Drama Queen Razorback catcher in action

Here's the video of Arkansas catcher Brian Walker faking getting hit by a pitch last year at Ole Miss. He did the same thing in Ruston Friday night, except he carried it even further, crawling part way toward first base. He then hit the game-wining homer Sunday and proceeded to mouth off at Moseley, who had shut the Hogs down for seven innings before the rally in the 8th.

The catcher that hit the home run on Sunday was Walker. As he rounded the bases he used the "F" word to our SS, then again to our 3B, and after touching home mouthed to the catcher and pitcher where the catcher had taken a ball back out to P. Home plate umpire did nothing.....totally gutless! Then when Wade jumped on umpire, it went from bad to worse and Van Horn mouthed off as he is to protect his players as well. Umpire wouldn't do anything. Next pitch behind back, warning, argument from Arkansas, then umpire ejects Tech's pitcher. Again, gutless by the umpire! Now due to NCAA rules, Tech pitcher can be suspended for next 4 games. Still nothing to the catcher....classless act, but heard that he does this some against others.

If Tech can do anything about it, it would be a cold day in hell before that umpire would appear again at a Tech game.

“It was just one of those things where the catcher might have said something and I might have said something back,” Walker said. “But whatever. Luckily, none of (our guys) got tossed and everybody came out okay.”

Van Horn didn’t blame Louisiana Tech coach Wade Simoneaux for the brushback pitch on Willard, instead putting blame on Thomas and Moseley.

“That was called by the catcher and pitcher,” Van Horn said. “That wasn’t called from the dugout.

Simoneuax had no comment when asked if the pitch at Willard was intentional.
The above was taken from the Times Record Ft.Smith newspaper. Walker is a poor excuse for a division 1 baseball player. If you were at game 1 on Friday evening he faked being hit by a pitch on two of his at bats and that awful WAC umpire fell for it on both occaisions. On the home run, Walker started yelling his trash talk 20 feet before he touched home plate. Van Horn (former razorback player and now head coach) says the decision to throw behind the nex't batter was made by the pitcher & catcher....yea and i'm the easter bunny Dave ! It was obvious when coach Sim went out to talk to Moseley and left him in the game he had one more assignment for Moseley.....DON'T DISRESPECT OUR TEAM ARKANSAS To top it all off, when Jericho jogged back to his position in right field past the visitors bullpen, their closer, Jess Todd motioned to Jericho that he was going to throw at his head ( Jericho was due to hit leadoff in the bottom of the inning) when he entered the game. Thankfully coach Sim put an end to their bush-league antics and pulled Jericho out of the game. I believe the fans would have come on the field if Todd was allowed to fulfill his threat. Van Horn is the biggest trash -talker of them all and he has recruited the kind of players to fit his warped style of coaching. The biggest idiot out there was Walker, and Van Horn made him captain of the team. Arkansas stats for the 3 game series....team batting average .194.........25 KKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK's......1, yes just one stolen base !!! How about the fantastic job of catching by sophomore Matt Combs !!!!! Did he have any passed balls? This young man is a great addition to our team and the pitching staff must be very appreciative of his skills behind the plate.

Re: Hot Dog - Drama Queen Razorback catcher in action

I meant to say Walker. It was Walker who faked getting hit Friday night at least once, and perhaps twice.

I, too was told by someone very close to the Tech players that Walker told two of our infielders F*** You as he rounded the bases. As he ran between third and home he yelled it at Moseley, then finished off by saying it to Thomas, the catcher. And for what? Because Tech had dared beat Arkansas on Saturday, then came close to doing it again Sunday.

He is a piece of crap, and Arkansas should be ashamed to have him as captain.

Wade went out and complained to the ump about Walker's actions, then went to the mound and warned Moseley not to throw at the next batter. Moseley had still only thrown 60-something pitches, and Wade was not going to take him out. As most of us would have done, Moseley threw it over the head of the next batter anyway, and suffered the consequences. The Arkansas radio guy was wrong when he said Wade ordered Moseley to throw at the batter.

Maybe we should have left Jericho in. If Todd makes that mistake he is gone...and BTW he is the one pitcher we had trouble with on the weekend. I don't know. I see the logic but if you are Arkansas I would tell Todd not to do it. Oh and if Todd would have thrown at Jericho I have no doubt in my mind that several of us on top of the dugout would have been out there with the team. It would be stupid of us but Jericho is such a fan favorite that you couldn't control the student section.

Matt did a great job. But someone on top of the dugout pointed out one flaw that really needs to be fixed. When he fields a ball he picks it up with his mit while his mask is still in his hand. He needs to throw the mask off and pick the ball up with his throwing hand. Would help him a lot more in getting the ball out quickly.

Check out this potion of the Arkansas fans as they gave each other play by play of Game 1. Without even seeing it, they suspected
    Walker was faking getting HBP:

BWalk pulls the HBP thing way too often, yet it also works more often than you would think, and like this weekend, sometimes makes a difference in a close game.

Your fans started the deal in the 8th with that tired OVERRATED chant crap while Walker is hitting, and now you want to call him a baby, etc.??? You started it, Walker finished it with a three run bomb, and then Tech "bit" on his chatter which is exactly what he wanted - to get his team, which was flat, fired up. Pitcher throws at Willard, everyone starts barking, Hogs get a couple of hits, Tech makes a couple of errors...ball game.

Nice job by the students starting that tired chant.

Call him a Hot Dog, Drama Queen, Crap, whine about class\no class depending upon your perspective whatever you will...but he had a hand in beating you twice this weekend when Arkansas didn't play very well.

    * HBP on Friday night and scored the winning run
    * Hit a 3 run HR Sunday to pull the UA ahead

Actually the chant started after he pulled his shinanigans - because several of your fans kept yelling score board -

One day all the bad Karma will catch up with him -
    ''Don't be a bad dagh..."

Your fans have no clue what you are talking about. They keep saying the overrated chant started before the HR. That is crap. It was after because of how he acted.

Oh he had his hand in beating us twice sure. But he also sucked all weekend with the exception of that 1 HR. Point is your team captain would rather fake getting hit by pitch with the bases loaded instead of swinging the bat. The scouts saw that and commented about how he does it too much. Personally if my captain is at bat with the bases loaded, I tell him to swing. I guess Van Horn tells him to hit the ground. Congrats. You won 2 of 3 games vs a soph starting pitching staff (don't forget our 3 pitcher shut you down until the 8th). I bet your fans are excited about this season.

FYI - The Sunday Ump is a Tech grad

Walker is a disgrace. Van Horn and most of the other kids on the Ark team seem like pretty good kids.
